Scrap is loaded into the compression chamber by a crane, hydraulic grab or conveyor. The cover cylinder first presses and confines the loose material inside the chamber.
The side and main compression cylinders then compress the scrap in several directions, forming a dense rectangular bale. Once the compression cycle is completed, the chamber door opens and the hydraulic push-out cylinder discharges the finished bale horizontally.
The operator can then remove the bale with a forklift, crane or hydraulic grab and begin the next cycle.
